Transparent Therapy
LGBTQIA+ and Neurodivergent Affirming Therapy in New York
Sometimes life feels like a never-ending performance.
You do a lot to keep others happy, & even then it sometimes feels like you can’t get it right.
Meanwhile, incessant systemic oppression & the rapid news cycle is overwhelming. You oscillate between wanting to do something & wanting to just tune out.
Your days are filled with a busy schedule, caretaking others’ emotions, being hard on yourself, and, inevitably, doom scrolling. (Been there.)
You’re burnt out, exhausted, and over it.
This isn’t the life you’d hoped for, and you’re starting to wonder if it’s even worth it to hope for something different.
It’s exhausting trying to be who everyone else wants you to be.
What if it’s not too late to embrace your truest self?
It feels impossible to remove all of the masks you learned to wear survive, and maybe you’re not sure if you want to.
But what if you could come home to yourself?
What if you could act from your own desire?
Your playfulness? Your creativity and intuition?
And what if being yourself didn’t mean being alone?
Your authentic self is ready & waiting for you.
Hi, I’m Mere (they/them).
I’m a trans and queer therapist licensed in New York offering affirming therapy for individuals, couples, and multi-partner relationships. I have extensive experience working with complex trauma, anxiety, perfectionism, and neurodivergent adults.
I work from trauma-informed approaches including Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) along with Relational, Somatic, and Internal Family System (IFS) frameworks. I also bring a healthy dose of humor, metaphor, and directness to help clients explore their inner world and move toward their goals.
My practice centers LGBTQIA+ clients, and I specialize in working with alternative sexualities and relationship structures. I’m deeply affirming of queer and trans identities, kink and D/s dynamics, sex work, and polyamory/consensual non-monogamy. My work as a therapist is rooted in anti-racism, body neutrality, & disability justice frameworks, with an emphasis on collective care.
I’d love to hear from you!
